Glacier National Park
We took a quick trip to Montana and visited Glacier National Park. This has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The mountains are rugged and there are rivers, lakes, and waterfalls everywhere you look. We flew into Spokane and drove there so we also got to see Coeur de Alene, Idaho and even made a short loop into Canada on the way back to Spokane.

Number 46
This is the 46th scorpion we have killed so far this year. This one I found on the floor in our den about four feet from where I was reading. This is what it looked like under a black light. Most of the scorpions I have found are out back--I go out hunting every night with a hammer.

Saturday Morning
Kira had to attend traffic school yesterday so Kathy and I got to spend the morning with Emmet and Emery. Emery said that her mom had to go to school to learn how to run red lights. We thought we would spend the morning swimming--it had been 110 degrees earlier in the week, but a cold front went through yesterday and it wasn't even 90. That's still pretty warm, but it actually felt chilly. Only in AZ.

Emery showing off.
I love her smile. She is a lot of fun.

Visiting Chris and Jenny
Ken took Friday off and we drove over to Los Angeles to spend the weekend with Chris and Jenny. The weather was perfect and we had a wonderful time. LA is beautiful this time of the year. The only difficult part was watching the Suns lose to LA and then seeing all of the Laker's jerseys and t-shirts being worn by everyone.
This is the fabric district. Store after store carrying
every fabric imaginable.
Chris gave us the tour of the USC dental school.
This is where Chris works on his dummy's teeth.
The view of downtown from the dental school.
This is one of the NCAA football
championship trophies on display
in the USC trophy room.
O.J. Simpson's Heisman trophy. They had one for
every USC player that had won. About seven or
eight of them Pretty impressive.
The Trojan
USC has a beautiful campus.

Chance in Town
Chance was in town over the weekend to attend a friend's wedding. It was great to see him and he was excited to have a little heat and sunshine. Spring has been slow in arriving to Chicago this year. Kira and the kids came up and we went for a swim, played Stratego, basketball, ping-pong, a drive in the desert, and met Jenny at Cafe Rio for lunch. Jenny has been in AZ visiting her parents and attending a ballet.

Chance and Emmet playing Stratego in the backyard so Chance can get some sun.
Basketball. Chance won.

Caribbean Cruise
We took a week-long cruise in April in the Western Caribbean with the entire family. We had perfect weather and a fantastic time. Emmet isn't in most of the pictures since he was in Kid's Club and we couldn't get him to leave.
Some of the beautiful women we hung out with.
Jenny, Angela, and Kira
This sunset was amazing. Notice, no Emmet.

Yes, Chris is wearing a speedo. He lost a bet!
